WHY DO I HAVE URINARY INCONTINENCE?
You can have temporary urinary incontinence for different reasons, ranging from caffeine to constipation. This type of urinary incontinence is usually easy to treat and shouldn’t keep coming back. However, it’s also possible to have persistent urinary incontinence that affects your quality of life. You can get this from changes in estrogen levels, such as during menopause, or as you age and your bladder muscle struggles to hold urine.
HOW DOES THE O-SHOT HELP URINARY INCONTINENCE?
The O-Shot involves the use of platelet-rich plasma that stimulates growth factors in the targeted areas. This results in rejuvenated vaginal and clitoral areas and has the added benefit of decreasing urinary incontinence. In fact, many women who have the O-Shot done have reported an improvement in urinary incontinence afterward.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE O-SHOT?
When you come in for the O-Shot procedure, you’ll have a sample of blood drawn. Thomas Pulice, PA-C uses this blood sample to make platelet-rich plasma. Your blood goes into a centrifuge that spins quickly to separate platelets. These platelets are then made into a platelet-rich plasma gel that he injects into the targeted areas. These injections usually don’t take long. In fact, they take just 20 minutes, although this can vary from patient to patient. Thomas Pulice, PA-C will let you know how long your procedure should take.
DOES THE O-SHOT HURT?
You shouldn’t experience any discomfort while having the O-Shot procedure. Thomas Pulice, PA-C uses a local anesthetic cream on the targeted areas, which helps prevent you from feeling any pinching or other pain when you receive the injections. If you’re worried about discomfort, you can discuss your concerns with him before having the O-Shot done. You might have slight soreness after your procedure, but this is temporary.
WHAT OTHER BENEFITS DOES THE O-SHOT PROVIDE?
Having the O-Shot doesn’t just ease urinary incontinence. You can also expect other benefits when you have this procedure done, including the following:
- Smoother skin on your vulva
- Increased lubrication
- Tightened vaginal opening
- Improved orgasms
- Less pain during intercourse
